Dental Traumatology Course – VIII Edition

General Objective

Know the incidence of dental trauma and its consequences. To provide tools for your diagnosis and treatment planning, based on the protocols of the International Association of Dental Trauma Special emphasis will be placed on those cases that require a treatment plan based on the findings of the Cone Beam CT (CBCT).

Specific Objectives

  • Know the limitations of radiography in dental traumatology versus cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).
  • Include trauma prevention plans in our clinical practice
  • To obtain the knowledge required to draw up treatment plans based on 3D radiological techniques.
  • To know the different types of dento-alveolar affectation after a trauma in the orofacial region.
  • To analyse the scientific basis on which the protocols of the International Association of Dental Traumatology are based.
  • Familiarize yourself with the concepts of flexible splinting and stabilization. To know its scientific basis.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining traumatized teeth in developing patients
  • To know the different preservation techniques of the alveolar process.
  • Decision-making skills and knowledge of apical barrier and revascularization techniques.

Diagnosis and treatment plan using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

11:00-13:00
Emergency management of dento-alveolar trauma in permanent teeth: Coronary and corono-radicular fractures and dislocations. Alveolar ridge preservation techniques in ankylosed or poorly restored teeth

13:00-14:30
Lunch and Learn. Interactive clinical case session: You decide the treatment

14:30-15:30
Emergency management of dento-alveolar trauma in permanent teeth: Radicular fractures and avulsions. New protocols in splints flexibles and intraconduct medication with corticosteroids.

15:30-16:30
Endodontic treatment in permanent teeth with immature apex. Apical Barrier or Revascularization? Anatomical and clinical considerations.
