A Comprehensive Masterclass in Immediate Implant Therapy, Precision Surgery, and Esthetic Excellence

Dennis P. Tarnow, DDS

Stephen J. Chu, DMD
An intensive three-day program with Drs. Dennis P. Tarnow and Stephen J. Chu to master immediate implant therapy, precision surgery and interdisciplinary esthetic rehabilitation.
OVERVIEW
Immediate implant therapy in the esthetic zone demands far more than placing an implant on the day of extraction: it requires understanding the biology of the labial plate, anticipating the soft tissue response, and making surgical and restorative decisions that remain stable for years. This three-day masterclass, taught in New York directly by Drs. Dennis P. Tarnow and Stephen J. Chu, brings together the protocols that have made their work a worldwide reference in implant dentistry and dental esthetics.
The program progresses from predictable to complex: from managing the intact extraction socket and three-dimensional implant positioning, through immediate placement in molar extraction sockets with co-axis and ultra-wide diameter implants, to resolving complex esthetic cases that require coordinating periodontics, orthodontics and restorative dentistry. Every block is grounded in evidence-based protocols, CBCT-based planning and the review of real clinical cases.
The hands-on workshop on day two lets you put these concepts into practice under faculty guidance: flapless atraumatic extractions, implant placement on models, fabrication of provisionals and custom healing abutments, and pontic site development. You will leave with strategies you can apply immediately in your practice, 18 continuing education (CE) credits, one year of access to Drs. Tarnow and Chu’s ‘Pearls’ clinical videos, and a copy of the textbook The Single Tooth Implant.
Learn immediate implant therapy and esthetics directly from their world leaders, with an exclusive discount for the BeiDE community.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Assess the extraction site with CBCT (apical anatomy, labial plate thickness and perforation risk) to plan immediate implant therapy with precision.
Apply flap vs. flapless decision criteria and three-dimensional positioning principles that support an ideal emergence profile and stable long-term anterior esthetics.
Select grafting, bone regeneration and soft tissue closure strategies based on defect dimensions and clinical indications.
Plan immediate placement in molar extraction sockets, choosing between co-axis and ultra-wide diameter implants according to socket classification.
Use socket sealing, provisionals and custom healing abutments to preserve and shape soft tissue architecture.
Decide, using evidence-based criteria, when to save or replace compromised implants in the esthetic zone.
Diagnose and treat papilla deficiencies, black triangles and pink esthetics, comparing prosthetic and surgical alternatives.
Coordinate treatment sequencing across periodontics, orthodontics and restorative dentistry in complex esthetic cases.
INTRODUCTORY VIDEO

Mastering Intact Extraction Sockets
Predictable immediate implant therapy for high-impact esthetic outcomes.
- Preserve tissue from the start. Flap vs. flapless decision-making, labial plate biology, ridge dynamics, and precision extraction techniques.
- Place implants with greater confidence. Three-dimensional positioning principles that support ideal emergence profile and long-term anterior esthetics.
- Improve regenerative predictability. How defect dimensions, grafting strategies, and biologic principles influence bone regeneration around immediate implants.
- Optimize soft tissue healing. Select primary closure or secondary intention strategies based on clinical indications and desired tissue response.
- Read the socket before you treat. CBCT-based assessment of apical anatomy, perforation risk, and labial bone thickness to identify risk and plan with precision.
- Build a foundation for esthetic stability. Strengthen peri-implant soft tissue phenotype with dual-cone therapy, biologic grafting principles, and proven protocols.
- Guide healing through smarter provisionals. Socket sealing and provisional restoration strategies for tissue preservation and esthetic risk management.
- Expand restorative possibilities. Angulated screw channel technology, platform switching, implant connection concepts, and co-axis vs. uniaxial design.
Thursday November 5, 2026 (Morning)
Immediate Placement in Anterior and Posterior Sockets
Advanced strategies with co-axial and ultra-wide diameter implants for molar extraction sockets
- Protect the site during complex extractions. Refine atraumatic extraction and sectioning techniques for multi-rooted teeth to preserve bone and soft tissue architecture.
- Select the right implant for the socket. Match co-axial and ultra-wide diameter implant designs to molar socket classification and immediate placement goals.
- Plan molar implants in three dimensions. Integrate positioning principles, biologic considerations, and gap-management strategies for posterior extraction sites.
- Manage defects with confidence. Address dehiscence defects, hard tissue regeneration, and immediate versus delayed restoration protocols.
- Shape tissue for restorative success. Use custom healing abutments to support soft tissue architecture and emergence profile development.
Thursday November 5, 2026 (Afternoon)
Hands-on workshop
Gives participants the opportunity to translate advanced concepts into practical clinical skills through faculty-guided, hands-on exercises
- Practice atraumatic tooth removal and sectioning for single- and multi-rooted teeth without flap elevation.
- Place co-axis and ultra-wide implants in anterior and molar extraction socket models.
- Fabricate provisional restorations and custom healing abutments to guide tissue healing.
- Develop pontic sites for delayed implant placement in the esthetic zone.
Friday November 6, 2026
Complex Esthetic Cases
Interdisciplinary strategies for confident decision-making and beautiful, stable outcomes
- Save or replace implants. Evidence-based decision-making for compromised implants in the esthetic zone.
- Enhance soft tissue grafting. Connective tissue grafting and double- or triple-layer protocols for esthetic reconstruction.
- Solve restorative challenges. Angulated screw channel technology and uniaxial implant systems that expand treatment options in demanding cases.
- Address papilla and black triangle deficiencies. Diagnose interdental esthetic defects and select strategies to improve final smile architecture.
- Optimize pink esthetics. Compare prosthetic tissue replacement and surgical soft tissue augmentation to select the best approach for each case.
- Choose regenerative strategies with purpose. Evaluate ridge augmentation, GBR, grafting materials, and barrier membranes for complex scenarios.
- Plan for long-term esthetic stability. Splinting implants to natural teeth, facial growth, age-related changes, and their impact on outcomes over time.
- Coordinate care across specialties. Sequence periodontics, orthodontics, and restorative dentistry more effectively.
- Learn through comprehensive case reviews. Apply evidence-based strategies from diagnosis through final restoration.
