Aesthetic Implantology: Clinical Procedures

DESCRIPTION

Reaching an optimal esthetic result in implant therapy is a challenging and large-scale procedure. One of the most important aspects is the predictability of our results. The different disciplines of dentistry which are involved (oral surgery, periodontal surgery, prosthodontics) should not be discussed separately. The only way to achieve a satisfactory result is to take into consideration all possible aspects during every step of the treatment (treatment planning, surgery, prosthodontics). Different treatment modalities and aspects for single tooth replacement and partially edentulous cases will be discussed. This course includes:

Hands on with models:
- Implant placement and GBR
Hands on with pig jaws:
- Subepithelial connective tissue graft
- Soft tissue augmentation (tunnel technique)
- Inlay graft
- Free gingival graft (gluing technology)

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this, participants should be able to:

Understand the biological principles
Identify possible difficulties and limits based on case analysis
Successfully use immediate implants in the aesthetic zone
Understand the need for augmentation procedures in the different situation
Select the ideal bone augmentation technique in compromised sites in the aesthetic zone
Know the different soft tissue augmentation techniques
Understand how to work with soft tissue at the prosthetic stage

LECTURER

Dr. Ueli Grunder

Dr. Ueli Grunder received his DMD degree from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, in 1982. His post-graduate education in advanced fixed prosthodontics also came from the University of Zurich.

He received his specialist in fixed prosthodontics of the Swiss Society of Prosthodontics (SSRD) and in implantology of the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology (SGI).

He maintains a private practice together with Thomas Gaberthüel from 1989 – 2014 and with David Schneider and Jörg Michel since 2018 in Zollikon-Zurich

He has published numerous papers and extensively lectured nationally and internationally on the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry. His book “Implants in the aesthetic zone” was published by Quintessence” 2015 and has been translated in 11 languages as of today. Dr. Grunder is Past-president of the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology (SSOI) and Past-President of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED).
