Supra-Alveolar Periodontal Tissue Reconstruction in a Case with Severe Periodontitis

This case report describes a patient with severe periodontitis that was treated with in supra-alveolar periodontal tissue reconstruction. This innovative surgical technique requires both horizontal buccal incisions and several vertical palatal incisions, avoiding the interdental papillae on the periodontal defect. Then, a space is created by suspending and fixating the flap coronally, and CTG and regenerative materials (such as recombinant human fibroblast growth factor-2) and bone graft material are applied. This technique has the potential to gain clinical attachment, achieve supra-/intraperiodontal regeneration, and enhance esthetic outcomes, including a reduced gingival recession and interdental papillae reconstruction.

Auto‐dentin platelet‐rich fibrin matrix is an alternative biomaterial for different augmentation procedures

Autologous dentin grafts derived from extracted teeth have shown promise as bone graft materials to promote bone regeneration. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical, radiographic and histological results of the use of autologous dentin matrices in various bone regeneration procedures. The use of autologous dentin particles mixed with PRF was shown to be effective as an alternative to conventional bone graft materials in GBR and maxilla

3D vertical soft tissue augmentation of aesthetically compromised permanent submerged dental implants

Midfacial peri-implant soft tissue recession poses a significant challenge to achieving satisfactory aesthetic outcomes and requires a comprehensive, multidisciplinary ap- proach. The present study describes two challenging cases in which implants were aesthetically compromised. A predictable technique was employed to manage these cases by using the implant itself as a tent to achieve 3D horizontal and vertical soft tissue building, which resulted in improved patient satisfaction.

A decision-making tree for evaluating an esthetically compromised single dental implant

This clinical decision tree illustrates numerous case scenarios with various esthetic complications around an esthetically compromised, but clinically healthy single implant and provides clinicians with possible solutions as a predictable map for horizontal and vertical soft tissue augmentation in order to manage different clinical circumstances. According to current evidence, the key to treating such esthetic complications is the use of an adequate pre-surgical prosthetic interdisciplinary approach with proper surgical techniques in order to optimize soft tissue dimensions and create better esthetic results. This may be accomplished through a purely surgical, combination of surgical and prosthetic, or purely prosthetic approaches.

The present report describes a series of successfully treated periimplant esthetic complication cases in accordance with the decision-making tree that
the authors recommend in order to achieve better long-term esthetic outcomes

Clinical Investigation of an Immediate Load Protocol Using Axial and Tilted Implants to Treat Patients with Failing Dentition or Complete Edentulism

This clinical investigation evaluated a specific surgical/prosthetic protocol for full-arch fixed dental restorations supported by immediate loaded axial and axial and tilted implants in a multicenter cohort study. Evaluation was based on a comparison of the survival rates of axial and tilted implants, as well as the overall prosthetic survival rate. Mid-study results confirmed that immediate loading of axial and tilted implants following the studied protocol provides a viable treatment modality for the rehabilitation of edentulous arches and terminal dentition.
